The Bodhisattva Path

‘Ultimately, of course, the distinction between the two ideals falls to the ground. You cannot really gain Enlightenment for the benefit of others unless you are a person of considerable spiritual development yourself, and you cannot develop spiritually yourself unless you are at the same time mindful of the needs of other people.  In the long run spiritual individualism and spiritual altruism coincide.’ Going for Refuge

What Is Tiratanaloka?

We are a community of 12 Order Members and GFR Mitras living together, running retreats and taking care of our retreat centre. As the Tiratanaloka Ordination team we offer a training for ordination. This training has two aspects: getting to know and understand the Order, which is based on Sangharakshita’s vision, and deepening one’s practice to the point at which it becomes effective.

Who Comes On Retreat Here?

All of our retreats are for women who have asked to join the Triratna Buddhist Order, and Dharmacharinis. If you are unsure if Tiratanaloka is a good fit for you, please get in touch.
