“‘Buddham saranam gacchami! Dhammam saranam gacchami! Sangham saranam gacchami! To the Buddha for refuge I go! To the Dhamma for refuge I go! To the Sangha for refuge I go!’ These words from the ancient past reveal to us the origin of an act which lies at the heart of Buddhist life: Going for Refuge. They also tell us something of the tremendous spiritual significance of this act. Going for Refuge represents your positive emotional response – in fact your total response – to the spiritual ideal when that ideal is revealed to your spiritual vision. Such is its appeal that you cannot but give yourself to it.” (Sangharakshita: Going for Refuge)
As we study, meditate and partake in ritual together, this retreat is an opportunity for us to open to what brings us alive - indeed what we long for most deeply - in our Dharma lives.
The team for this retreat includes Dhammadassin, Santavajri from the UK, and Kulanandi and Vidyagita who will be bringing over a group from Germany.
The study material can be found here.
