Retreat Terms and Conditions
Cost of Retreats
There are three rates for our retreats: full, concession, broke! Please pay the full rate, if you can, to help support our activities. The second rate is for those on a low income, and the third rate is for those who really cannot afford to pay any more. If you are in financial difficulty it is possible to pay by instalments or to request some help from the bursary (although this is a limited resource).
Deposit & Payment
A deposit of £50 for weekend retreats and £70 for longer retreats is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Cancellation Policy
Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel your booking, as others may be waiting for a place on that retreat.
In the event of a cancellation, deposits of £50 (weekend rate) and £70 (longer retreats) are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you cancel within two weeks of the retreat and we are unable to fill your place you will be refunded half the retreat cost. If your place is filled we will refund the retreat cost minus the deposit.
Confirmations
We will confirm your booking upon receipt of payment. Please check the details of confirmation immediately - we cannot accept any liability for incorrect booking details unless you notify us in writing within 7 days. No booking is final unless payment is received in full. We reserve the right not to accept a booking in which case any payment will be refunded.
Accommodation
Accommodation is in shared rooms, some with bunk beds. If you have specific accommodation requirements please ensure that you notify us when you book as we cannot guarantee that we’ll be able to meet your requirements when you arrive. There are a limited number of single and ground floor rooms. These are allocated purely on a basis of need, rather than a preference.
Welfare and Safety
For welfare and safety reasons please let us know if you have any disabilities or serious health problems such as diabetes or epilepsy, or any clinical mental health problems – particularly if you are on medication.
Mobile phones, tablets, etc.
Please switch them off completely and do not use them whilst on retreat here, either on on or off the grounds. We have a telephone on site for emergencies.
Restricted Diets
We can provide alternative meals at lunch and dinner for those with a restricted medical diet, this may well be quite a simple dish (eg steamed veg and rice). We offer rice cakes, oat cakes and ryvita as an alternative to bread. We do not offer any alternative restricted diet meals at breakfast. Any food stuffs you feel you need that we don't provide (except meat and fish), you can bring yourself and store in the dining area. All our meals are vegan. We cannot cater for the FODMAP diet.
Restrictions
You must be aged 18 or over to attend a retreat at Tiratanaloka. On the occasions that children visit Tiratanaloka, it is a requirement that the person under the age of 18 be accompanied by a legal guardian or parent. If a retreatant is discovered to be under the influence of recreational drugs or alcohol, having sexual relations, or consuming meat they will be asked to leave and no refund of any payments will be made.
