Retreat Terms and Conditions

Cost of Retreats

There are three rates for our retreats: full, concession, and unwaged. Please pay the full rate if you can, to help support our activities. The second rate is for those on a low income, and the third rate is for those who really cannot afford to pay any more. If you are in financial difficulty it is possible to pay by instalments or to request some help from the bursary (although this is a limited resource).

Deposit & Payment

A deposit of £50 for weekend retreats and £70 for longer retreats is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Cancellation Policy

Most of our retreats book up quickly, but late cancellations can lead to places being left unfilled, since women on the waiting list often make other arrangements. This means women lose the opportunity to come on retreat here and Tiratanaloka loses income. To avoid the need for cancellation please be very sure about your dates before booking.

If you need to cancel a retreat please let us know as soon as possible. A deposit of £70 (long retreats) or £50 (weekends) will be deducted from your refund in all circumstances.

If you cancel less than 6 weeks before the retreat and we cannot replace you, you will be required to pay half the total of the retreat cost.

If you cancel less than a week before the retreat and we cannot replace you, you will incur the loss of the full cost of the retreat, except in exceptional circumstances.

Confirmations

We will confirm your booking once the team has had chance to review it. Please check the details of confirmation immediately - we cannot accept any liability for incorrect booking details unless you notify us in writing within 7 days. No booking is final unless payment is received in full. We reserve the right not to accept a booking in which case any payment will be refunded.

Accommodation

Accommodation is in shared rooms, some with bunk beds. If you have specific accommodation requirements please ensure that you notify us when you book as we cannot guarantee that we’ll be able to meet your requirements when you arrive. There are a limited number of single and ground floor rooms. These are allocated purely on a basis of need, rather than a preference.

Welfare and safety

For welfare and safety reasons please let us know if you have any disabilities or serious health problems such as diabetes or epilepsy, or any clinical mental health problems – particularly if you are on medication.

Mobile phones, tablets, etc.

Please switch them off completely and do not use them whilst on retreat here, either on on or off the grounds. We have a telephone on site for emergencies.

Restricted diets

Please state on your booking form if you have any food allergies, or other restrictions to your diet on medical grounds. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, and will be in touch if we do not feel we will be able to cater for you. Any food stuffs you feel you need that we don't provide (except meat and fish), you can bring yourself and store in the dining area. All our meals are vegan.

Restrictions

You must be aged 18 or over to attend a retreat at Tiratanaloka. On the occasions that children visit Tiratanaloka, it is a requirement that the person under the age of 18 be accompanied by a legal guardian or parent. It is a requirement that you do not consume recreational drugs or alcohol, smoke, eat meat or fish, or engage in sexual relations on the premises. If a retreatant is discovered to be under the influence of recreational drugs or alcohol, having sexual relations, or consuming meat or fish they will be asked to leave and no refund of any payments will be made.

We do not store card details nor do we share your details with any 3rd parties.

If your contact details change at any time please let us know.
