Ethics 2: online booking code H221

"These precepts make up a path of practice rather than being a list of fixed rules or rigid prohibitions.  An ethical precept isn't an absolute in the sense of being something you are either observing or not observing.  As long as one is living with the precepts in mind, one's practice could always be worse and always be better.  There is always further to fall, and always further to go.  The precepts are therefore weightier than our limited experience of them allows us to realize... the ten precepts deserve considerable thought and reflection; they go far beyond our usual conception of ethics" (Sangharakshita: Living Ethically)

If you have already done an ethics retreat with us, this is a chance to come and explore the precepts further, to open more fully to 'the fragrance of the perfect life'.  We will either study the 3 mind precepts in more depth or we will look in more detail at the speech precepts, if possible learning some practical ways to foster harmonious communication.  We'll let you know as soon as we can which theme we'll be running.

The team for this retreat will include Dhammadassin, Karunadhi, Prajnagita, Vandanajyoti and Vajratara.  The study material for the mind precepts can be found here and for the speech precepts here.

We are hoping to hold this retreat at Tiratanaloka.  If this is not possible, we will run it as an online event.  We are asking you book with just a deposit at present and we will let you know the appropriate balance amount at least one month before the retreat.  Please book only if you are happy to do this as a residential retreat.
