Tiratanaloka is situated in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, 7 miles from Brecon.

RAIL

Nearest rail station is Abergavenny.
From London Paddington change at Newport. From Glasgow the cheapest option is to change at Manchester.
Tiratanaloka is approximately 14 miles from Abergavenny. From there you can get a taxi or bus to Tiratanaloka.

Taxis cost about £30 - £35 if booked. Those outside the station can cost over £35 on meter. You may want to consider sharing a taxi with others who may be coming on the same retreat.

BUSES

From Abergavenny
There is a bus service from the road leading to Abergavenny train station or from Abergavenny bus station (about 10 minute walk downhill from the train station) to Talybont-on-Usk, which is about a mile from Tiratanaloka. There is no taxi service from Talybont, so you would need to walk from there. Take the bus from Abergavenny for Brecon and get off at Talybont-on-Usk Post Office.

COACH and BUS TO/FROM CARDIFF
Travel by coach to Cardiff for a connecting service to Brecon. There is a daily National Express coach from Cardiff to Brecon at 5.50pm arriving at 7.10pm. To return, the coach leaves Brecon at 8.55am arriving at 10.15. There are cheap internet coach fares starting at £1 from London book via www.nationalexpress.com or www.megabus.com or call national Express 0870 580 8080. Buses: The bus from Cardiff to Brecon is now the 470 service (but still Sixty-Sixty) leaving Cardiff at 1045, 1245, 1545 and 1745 , or Stagecoach T4 (download a PDF), but neither come to Talybont. You'll need to change onto the Stagecoach X43 service at Brecon (download a PDF).

Minibus to Brecon
A local company running adventure weekends have a minibus that you can get from London to Brecon, it runs on Fridays and Sundays and costs £10 each way call 01874 636 552

AIR TRAVEL

Our nearest airports are Cardiff and Bristol both are served by the cut price airlines. Air Wales, Ryanair and BMI baby fly to Cardiff while Easy Jet and Ryanair fly into Bristol from many UK and European destinations. You can then get a bus from the airport to the city centre and get a train to Abergavenny from Bristol or the bus to Talybont from Cardiff.

ROAD

From the M4 or M5 motorways, the A40 is the nearest main road. From the A40 take the slip road to Talybont-on-Usk. Follow the road to a T-junction and then turn right through Talybont, following the signs for Pencelli. After approx. quarter of a mile, opposite the post office, turn left over the canal heading for Pontsticill and Talybont reservoir. Follow this road for approx. one mile and Tiratanaloka is on the left, just past the sign for Aber village.
